<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for achieving personal authentication by obtaining data well reflecting personal characteristic with improved reproducibility with low psychological resistance and difficulty in forgery while eliminating or minimizing maintenance management work for preventing contamination on a device. <P>SOLUTION: A personal authentication device using a vein pattern of a finger, optimizes the amount of light of a light source based on a captured finger image, and emphasizes the vein pattern during image processing for authentication. According to this, personal authentication with low psychological resistance, difficulty in forgery and high authentication accuracy can be achieved while eliminating or minimizing the maintenance management work for preventing contagion due to dirt on the device or for preventing incorrect data acquisition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
