<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating waste plastics that can largely reduce the amount of chlorine components mixed into a recovered oil although it has a simple construction and to provide a method for treating waste plastics. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating waste plastics is designed for the pyrolysis of waste plastics as a resource having the possibility of being mixed with vinyl chloride and other chlorine-containing plastics. The apparatus has a pyrolysis unit where the target waste plastics as a resource to be treated are introduced and the introduced waste plastics are pyrolyzed, a treatment unit for dechlorination and a treatment unit for condensing oils where the pyrolysis gas discharged from the pyrolysis unit is treated. The pyrolysis unit is constructed such that the waste plastics as a resource are pyrolyzed at least at a first temperature and a second temperature higher than the first temperature and a guide passage for the pyrolysis gas discharged from the pyrolysis unit is provided with a switching means for guiding the pyrolysis gas such that the pyrolysis gas produced at the first temperature is guided into the treatment unit for dechlorination and the pyrolysis gas produced at the second temperature is guided into the treatment unit for condensing oils. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
