Provided is a hearing aid which suppresses the occurrence of acoustic feedback when being attached. A hearing aid is provided with a sound collecting unit (101) for collecting ambient sound, a sound outputting unit (106) for outputting sound, and a main body (100) having a shape attachable to an ear, wherein the main body (100) is provided with a hearing aid processing unit (102) for subjecting the ambient sound collected by the sound collecting unit (101) to hearing aid processing, an attachment determining unit (104) for determining, on the basis of the ambient sound, whether or not the main body (100) is attached to the ear, a specific sound generating unit (103) for generating a predetermined signal, and a selecting unit (105) for selecting either the sound subjected to the hearing aid processing by the hearing aid processing unit (102) or the sound generated by the specific sound generating unit (103) on the basis of the result of the determination by the attachment determining unit (104) and outputting the selected sound to the sound outputting unit (106).
