PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for transmitting a signal in a wireless communication system are provided to prevent the unnecessary power consumption by changing output range depending on the strength of an envelope signal. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(520) receives the power control information of a baseband signal, and a signal converter(530) outputs a phase signal after receiving the baseband signal. When the output mode signal of the control unit indicates a first output mode, the signal converter outputs an envelope signal. A phase modulator(540) performs an up-converting operation of the phase signal, and an amplification unit(550) performs the combination and the amplification of an up-converted phase signal and the envelope signal at the first output mode.
