PURPOSE: A device and a method for outputting high resolution data to external device in a mobile terminal are provided to use visual light communication between the mobile terminal and a multi gateway, thereby embodying high speed communication with low poser driving of LED(Light Emitting Diode) in a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(100) transmits a video signal to multimedia gateway(110) through visible light communication. The multimedia gateway reproduces the video signal received from the mobile terminal. The multimedia gateway transmits the reproduced video signal to external device(130,132,134) through HDMI(High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable(120,122,124). The external device displays a played video signal received from the multimedia gateway.
