<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distributed article managing system and distributed article managing method, capable of managing distributed articles in such a way as to be confirmed by customers. <P>SOLUTION: The distributed article managing system manages mail articles MA delivered by a provider which provides services for customers. The distributed article managing system includes: an IC tag 3 attached to the mail article MA in which attribute information of the mail article MA is stored; a radio reader 22 mounted in a mailbox 2, which is set in a customer's house B and into which the distributed mail article MA is inserted, for reading the attribute information from the IC tag 3 of the inserted mail article MA and transmitting the information to a cellular phone 4 of the customer; a switch part 23 and an antenna 24.
