PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extraction medium filling method capable of accurately filling an extraction medium holder part with a prescribed quantity of an extraction medium. SOLUTION: According to the method, the extraction medium stored in a liquid storage part is transferred to the extraction medium holder part, and the extract extracted from the skin of a subject is held by the extraction medium held in the extraction medium holder part. Then, the extraction medium holder part of a biogenic substance analyzer for analyzing substances included in the extract held in the extraction medium is filled with the extraction medium. The method of extraction medium filling method includes: a transfer step of transferring the extraction medium from the liquid storage part to the extraction medium holder part; a step of detecting the variation or the quantity of variation of resistance in the extraction medium holder part; and a stopping step of stopping the transfer of the extraction medium based on the detection of the variation or quantity of variation of resistance.
