<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an amino acid ester or a peptide ester or a salt of these in a high yield that uses an operationally advantageous alcohol solvent and dispenses with a dehydrating agent, refluxing and a heating operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the amino acid ester or the peptide ester or the a salt of these comprises esterifying an amino acid or a peptide by allowing an alcohol to flow through a cation exchanger column having adsorbed the amino acid or the peptide thereon while removing water.
