POLYCARBONATE RESIN, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING POLYCARBONATE RESIN, AND TRANSPARENT FILM

Disclosed is a polycarbonate resin having excellent transparency.  Also disclosed is a process for producing the polycarbonate resin.  Further disclosed is a transparent film.  The polycarbonate resin contains at least a constituent unit derived from a dihydroxy compound having a binding structure represented by structural formula (1), and has a sulfur element content of 5 ppm or less. (With respect to the structure represented by formula (1), a structure having a hydrogen atom bound to the oxygen atom is excluded.)
