PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zeolite material such as a zeolite membrane produced by applying clay-zeolite slurry to the surface of a supporting body and converting the clay part into zeolite, a method for producing the same, and its use. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a zeolite material such as a zeolite membrane, clay-zeolite slurry is applied to the surface of various supporting bodies including metal mesh, thereafter, the clay part is subjected to steam heating treatment so as to be converted into zeolite, and the zeolite is caked and is made into the one having resistance to water. The zeolite material is obtained by the method. In this way, such a technique that zeolite having low self-sinterability is inexpensively and easily made into zeolite using clay as an inorganic component and is subjected to coating can be provided, and for instance, the zeolite coating technique which is suitably used for the filtering of a high temperature liquid like hot water and as a disposable filter membrane for sterilization can be provided.
