<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in a conventional illuminating device, a triaxial adjustment required after the assembly makes workability poor due to too much adjustment work, makes the adjustment work itself complicated, and requires skills for the adjustment work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An illuminating device includes a light emitting element 10 for emitting light, a light pipe 2, a holder 3, and a spring 9. In the light pipe 2, the light emitted from the light emitting element 10 is introduced from the incidence plane 2a, and the incident light is guided to be output from the output plane 2b. The holder 3 into which the light pipe 2 is inserted has a center hole 15 that supports the light pipe 2 in a manner that its attitude can be changed. The light emitting element 10 is disposed at the edge part on the incidence plane side of the light pipe 2 inserted into the center hole 15, facing the incidence plane 2a. The spring 9 provides a biasing force to the light pipe 2 toward the light emitting element 10 side and causes the incidence plane 2a to come in contact with the light emitting element 10.
