<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stored content playback apparatus automatically starting and stopping playback of one or more content data recorded in a recording medium without recognizing a stop code by playing back the content data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The stop code which are necessary for recording across a few frames in a tape medium is added to metadata differently from the content data and is recorded in a medium part 11. A control unit 13, by using the stop code information obtained from the metadata without depending on a current stop position, can perform cue up or moving to a broadcasting start point of a program instantaneously only by randomly accessing a frame designated by the stop code.
