A multimedia data processing device in which long-term recording may be performed by optimizing use of memory during the recording of multimedia in a multimedia system having a limited memory capacity, such as a mobile communication terminal, a multimedia system including the multimedia data processing device, and a method of recording multimedia data. The multimedia data processing device includes an input unit to which media data output from input devices is input, a data compression and information generating unit compressing the media data and generating information regarding the media data, a buffer temporarily storing the media data and the information from the data compression and information generating unit as a packet, outputting the media data and the information to a disk, and storing a file offset regarding an information packet of the packet, and a file format generating unit generating a media data file format by using the information packet stored in the disk, with reference to the file offset. |
