<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system which can detect, more accurately than before, an folding flaw occurring in a roll which has intermesh and is heavy in weight. <P>SOLUTION: A biaxial vibrometer 16 detects vibration in the X-axis direction and vibration in the Y-axis direction of an upper roll 14a. Information processing equipment 17 inputs vibration signals indicating the vibration in the X-axis direction and the vibration in the Y-axis direction and takes out, from the input vibration signals, the frequency of the vibration in the X-axis direction and the frequency of the vibration in the Y-axis direction. Then the information processing equipment 17 calculates the mel-cepstral coefficient corresponding to the vibration in the X-axis direction and the mel-cepstral coefficient corresponding to the vibration in the Y-axis direction individually. The information processing equipment 17 determines that there is an folding flaw in a steel sheet S if the calculated mel-cepstral coefficient corresponds to any one of the first to third criteria of folding flaw occurrence, and determines that there is no folding flaw in the steel sheet S if not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
