<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing controller for rapidly detecting an excessive temperature rise, even if an abnormal temperature rise takes place when a rotor, such as a thin-walled roller or belt, stops rotating. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing controller includes the belt 201, a coil 204 for heating the belt 201, a thermister 206 for detecting a temperature of the belt 201 in contact with the belt 201, a heating circuit 415 for heating the thermister 206, and a drive circuit 412 for driving the coil 204. The controller further includes an excessive temperature rise detecting circuit 414 that forcibly stops the drive circuit 412 when the detection temperature of the thermister 206 reaches a predetermined level or above. The fixing controller further includes a control circuit 413 that controls the drive frequency of the drive circuit 412 from the detection result of the thermister 206. The thermistor 206 is heated by the heating circuit 415 such that the temperatures detected by the thermistor when the belt 201 is rotating and when the belt stops rotating have a difference equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
