PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience in operation of letting information on a recording medium be read from the external with a neck strap worn. SOLUTION: The recording medium holder is provided with the neck strap, a hanging cord connected at one end to the recording medium recording information that is readable from the external, or a case containing that, a drum provided on the neck strap, a rotating member provided in the drum to be energized to rotate to wind the hanging cord on other end side, a rotation prohibiting member, a rotation prohibiting member to prohibit rotation of the rotating member with the hanging cord pulled out of the drum against the rotating member energized to rotate, and an adjusting device provided with a cancellation member to cancel the state of the rotating member prohibited from rotating by the rotation prohibiting member.
