PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a flow rate of a blood pump which can effectively restrain accuracy of an estimated result of the flow rate from being deteriorated due to an individual difference of blood pump characteristics. SOLUTION: The method for estimating the flow rate of the blood pump includes: a first step of preparing a plurality of blood pumps to form a general flow rate estimating formula including a correction term by using the plurality of the respective blood pumps, and substituting measured data obtained by using the actual blood pump embedded in the body of a patient for the correction term to form the flow rate estimating formula in the actual blood pump from the general flow rate estimating formula; and a second step of measuring a rotating frequency N of a motor in the actual blood pump embedded in the body of the patient, a consumption current I of the motor and attribute data Z of the blood of the patient, and of estimating the flow rate Q of the blood pump on the basis of the flow rate estimating formula in the actual blood pump and these values N, I and Z.
