A fuel assembly (20) is configured by assembling a plurality of fuel rods (21), binding the plurality of fuel rods with a plurality of support grids (22), and disposing a lower nozzle (24) and an upper nozzle (23) at both ends of the plurality of fuel rods (21).  A shock-absorbing device (10) for the fuel assembly is attached to each of the lower nozzle (24) and the upper nozzle (23).  The shock-absorbing device (10) for the fuel assembly comprises a nozzle support (12) which is attached to a recessed portion (24U) of the lower nozzle (24) and a recessed portion (23U) of the upper nozzle (23), and a buffer (11) which is combined with the nozzle support (12) and has stiffness lower than or equal to that of the nozzle support (12) in the longitudinal direction of the fuel rods (21).
