A travel control device for a vehicle has a slip rate detection section (31) for obtaining the slip rates of front wheels (12FL, 12FR) and rear wheels (12RL, 12RR) according to travel conditions of the vehicle (11), a friction coefficient detection section (32) for obtaining the friction coefficients of the front wheels (12FL, 12FR) and the rear wheels (12RL, 12RR) according to the travel conditions of the vehicle (11), a stabilized-slip rate-region setting section (33) for setting, according to the travel conditions of the vehicle (11), stabilized slip rate regions in which the friction coefficients are greater than or equal to predetermined values, a drive/braking force control section (34) for controlling, in the stabilized slip rate regions, drive and braking force, and a stabilized-slip-rate-region change section (35) for changing the upper and lower limit values in the stabilized slip rate regions according to variations in the friction coefficients both when the slip rates increase and when the slip rates decrease.
