PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more improve the usability of an event calendar than heretofore.

SOLUTION: A television receiver 4 analyzes received broadcast contents, automatically extracts event information from the contents, and displays the event information in a calendar format. Thus, an event calendar with the event information described therein can be presented to a user without causing the user himself/herself to input the event information, so that the usability of the event calendar can be further more improved than heretofore.
