<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a light from being leaked, without widening a light shielding member of a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes the first substrate, a color filter formed on the first substrate, a pixel electrode formed on the color filter, the second substrate opposed to the first substrate, a common electrode formed on the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer inserted between the first substrate and the second substrate.
