<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent generation of stress at an electrolyte film, and to obtain excellent power generation performance with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell 10 includes an electrolyte membrane-electrode structure 14, a first metal separator 16 and a second metal separator 18. The first metal separator 16 includes a first outer peripheral projection part 42a formed on an outside of an oxidant gas flow channel 36. The second metal separator 18 includes a second outer peripheral convex part 52a formed on an outside of a fuel gas flow channel 48.
