PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method capable of recording reservation for a programming to be tracked during recording reservation on a date-and-time when service information does not exist, and establishing recording reservation in a programming unit when the service information is obtained. SOLUTION: A video recording apparatus (1) includes a service information acquisition module, a reserved recording control module (35 (main computer module 30)), an information recording module (2001/1001), and a management information control module (34 (main computer module 30)) during recording. The service information acquisition module obtains the service information through broadcast waves or a network. The reserved recording control module receives a reservation indication for recording a programming to be recorded, and specifies the programming containing a time identified by the already received reservation indication, based on the service information obtained by the service information acquisition module, and then updates the reservation indication. According to a reservation indication held by the reserved recording control module, the management information control module records the programming on information recording module.
