The outer edge of an end leaf 1 of a folding door comprising two or more hingedly interconnected leaves is fixed to a tubular axle 6 extending substantially the full height of the door and supported in at least two bearings, of which the lowermost is permanently fixed in the floor and the uppermost is adjustably secured to a bracket permanently fixed to the structure of the building. Preferably the lower bearing (Fig. 4) comprises an internally screwthreaded socket 8, which may contain lubricant, engaged by the threaded end of the axle 6, and the upper bearing (Fig. 5) comprises a depending pintle 12 welded to a plate 13 having an upwardly-extending threaded pin 14 which passes through a slot between two angle irons 15 constituting the bracket. The pintle 12 is clamped to the bracket by means of a nut 16 on the pin 14, a washer 17 being provided. |
