FRONTAL UTTERANCE/LATERAL UTTERANCE PRESUMPTION DEVICE, METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frontal utterance/lateral utterance presumption device which eliminates the need for disposing a number of microphones to surround a speaker and can properly presume the direction of utterance even under the environment of a long reverberation time.

SOLUTION: A voice signal uttered by the speaker in a periphery of a microphone array constituted of a plurality of microphones is collected by the plurality of microphones. A correlation matrix expressing correlation between the voice signals collected by each microphone is generated, thus presuming the direction of voice produced by the speaker to the microphone array from an eigenvalue obtained by resolving the correlation matrix to an eigenvalue matrix and an eigenvector matrix.
