<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which accurately detects contact with a human body and performs a switching between a protection temperature when the human body contact is detected and the protection temperature when the human body contact is not detected, to provide a method of controlling temperature rise and a program therefor, and to provide a recording medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronic device includes: a temperature threshold setting means for setting at least two or more temperature thresholds in the device; a temperature detection means for detecting a temperature in the device; a protection contact detection means for detecting the contact with a human body; a temperature threshold switching means for switching the temperature threshold; a comparison means for comparing the temperature in the device with the temperature threshold; and a control means for controlling an operation based on the comparison results of the comparison means. When the protection contact detection means detect the contact with the human body for a predetermined time or longer, the temperature threshold is switched. When the comparison means determines that the temperature in the device is higher than the temperature threshold, an operation control is performed so as to decrease the temperature in the device.
