<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel image processing apparatus capable of color-reproducing a color part while curbing costs for an input image mixed with a color region and a monochromatic region, and capable of color-reproducing with excellent precision for an input image containing only a color region such as a photograph. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises: a means for determining an input image as any of a color image, a monochromatic image, or an image mixed with a color image and a monochromatic image; and a means for color-converting the input image using a color table which color-converts so as to color-print all of pixels when determining as a color image, color-converting the input image using a monochromatic table which color-converts so as to monochrome-print all of pixels when determining as a monochromatic image, and color-converting the input image using a color table for a mixed image which color-converts so as to monochrome-print pixels belonging to a first non-color range and color-print pixels belonging to a range other than the first non-color range when determining as an image mixed with a color image and a monochromatic image.
