<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate valve capable of securing excellent sealability, the gate valve being easy to assemble or disassemble/repair, not allowing its valve casing and cover to become bulky by reducing weight, and lengthening the service life of a seal member of the valve casing and the cover. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The cover 5 is formed with a cover cylinder part 5a fitted to the inner peripheral side of an opening cylinder part 2a. An annular projection strip 9 arranged on an outer peripheral surface of the cover cylinder part 5a is locked in the axial direction by a step height part 10 arranged on an inner peripheral surface of the opening cylinder part 2a and a lock ring 11 stored in an annular groove 12. The cover cylinder part 5a is prevented from rotating by fitting a projection part 15 arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the cover cylinder part 5a in an engaging groove 14 arranged on an end surface of the opening cylinder part 2a. A seal ring 17 is installed in a seal groove 16 arranged on the inner peripheral surface of the opening cylinder part 2a. The assembling sand disassembling-repairing are facilitated by sealing between the valve casing 2 and the cover 5, and the valve casing 2 and the cover 5 do not become bulky by reducing weight, and the service life of the seal member of the valve casing 2 and the cover 5 can be lengthened.
