<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, apparatus, and process for automated segmentation of anatomical data. <P>SOLUTION: An input module (122) of the analytical system (100) accepts a plurality of multidimensional datasets which are derived from any of several types (108) of data sources (112, 114, ... 118). A registration module (138) accepts the dataset from the input module (122) and registers the dataset from the input module (122) to a selected anatomical model to provide a registered dataset. A processing module (138) uses the registration dataset of the registration module (138) in determining a core region and associated core region information, and computes threshold characteristics of the registered dataset.
