PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the predicting error when parameter b rises with the passage of time during actual measurement. SOLUTION: An electronic thermometer predicts equilibrium temperature having resulted in a thermal equilibrium state with a prediction function, determines whether the temperature variation is rising using a plurality of measurement points after start of measurement based on variation in parameter b, performs correction using a correction value responsive to the pattern of the temperature rising trend when the temperature variation is rising, and does not perform correction when the temperature variation is not rising. Thus, the predicting error can be reduced even when the parameter b rises with the passage of time. A predicting means includes a prediction function determining section that determines the prediction function having two parameters a and b and correction valueαand determining the equilibrium prediction temperature, and a thermal equilibrium prediction temperature calculating means for calculating the equilibrium temperature in the thermal equilibrium period using the prediction function determined by the prediction function determining section.
