<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed-up progress in tool exchange by improving the functional safety of a tool clamping device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a tool clamping device including an operating member (3) for a working machine, a drive unit allows the operating member (3) to be displaced between a first position, in which the tool clamping device is in a clamping position, and a second position in which the tool clamping device is in a release position. The tool clamping device is provided with at least one sensor in order to detect the position of the operating member (3). The sensor is integrated in the tool clamping device. At least part of the operating member (3) directly constitutes at least one electrical constituent element. The position of the part affects the electrical characteristics of the constituent element. The sensor is an electrical switch. At least part of the operating member (3) is conductive and forms a contact electrode of the switch or part of the contact electrode.
