<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing a nanofiber which reduces a manufacturing cost and improves productivity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The nanofiber is produced by charging a liquid raw material F containing a polymer material, releasing the charged liquid raw material into air and forming a fibrous substance F1 from the raw material F by an electrostatically drawing phenomenon. The production apparatus 1 includes a container 2 that releases the raw material F into air and at least partially composed of a conductor and an electrode 3 arranged at a fixed interval from the container 2. The container 2 is grounded so as to generate an electric field between the container 2 and the electrode 3, and the electrode 3 is connected to one terminal of a high-voltage power source 4. The fibrous substance F1 formed from the raw material F by the electrostatically drawing phenomenon is collected in a bag 18 at least partially composed of a net-like fabric.
