PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicator instrument which can accurately detect an operating position of an indicator mechanism by a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element, and also can make the whole instrument thin even if a data displaying member is incorporated. SOLUTION: The indicator instrument includes a circuit board 8 supported by an upper housing 6 in a wristwatch case and an element substrate 33 so supported as to be opposed to a gear train support 16, and the operating position of a watch movement 9 disposed between the board and the substrate is detected by joint actions of the light-emitting element 30 provided at the underside of the circuit board 8 positioned at the element substrate 33 side and the light-receiving element 31 so provided at the topside of the element substrate 33 positioned at the circuit board 8 side as to be opposed to the light-emitting element 30. A liquid crystal display panel 11 is disposed at the watch glass G side of the circuit board 8 in order to make the panel apart from the position of the disposition of the light-emitting element which is liable to be affected by external light. Accordingly, the operating position of the watch movement 9 can be accurately detected optically while the thickness of the watch module 1 is made small, and the whole watch can be made thin even if the liquid crystal display panel 11 is incorporated in the watch module 1 embedded with various electronic components.
