<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damages from wheel load of a seal plate 5 when snow or the like deposits on the seal plate 5. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In an expansion joint for a road bridge 1 which is arranged with a seal plate 5 in a free space 7 between a pair of vertical plates 4, 4, seal receivers 15a, 16a which are protruded at a place lower than the free space 7 at least from one of the opposed road bridge main bodies 2, 2 where both vertical plates 4, 4 are fixed respectively to the other are arranged and a center part of the seal plates 5 is supported.
