<p>A video processing apparatus is provided with a skin color region detection apparatus (13) which detects a skin color region in one frame from the hue, saturation, and brightness signals, a skin color area calculation apparatus (14) which receives the result of the detection of the skin color region and calculates the area of a skin color portion in the one frame, a gamma correction control device (15) which receives the result of the calculation of the skin color area and generates a gamma correction control signal with respect to the luminance signal, a gamma correction device (11) which subjects the luminance signal to gamma correction according to the gamma correction control signal, a color space transformation device (12) which transforms the gamma-corrected luminance and color difference signals to the hue, saturation, and brightness signals, a skin color correction device (16) which receives the output after the transformation and corrects only the skin color, a color space inverse transformation device (17) which inversely transforms the corrected hue, saturation, and brightness signals to color signals as output data, and a video display apparatus (18) which displays the inversely transformed color signals as a video.</p> |
