Olefin polymer or copolymer film is subjected to a treatment to improve the bonding properties of its surface, coated with a thermosetting resin which is substantially insoluble in water and finally overcoated with a heat seal coating, e.g. 80-95% by weight of vinylidene chloride and up to 20% of acrylonitrile. Other heat seal coatings are specified. The film may be used for packaging foodstuffs which may be heated in the package and stored. Specification 715,914 is referred to. |
