Control of a follow-on drive with dynamic calculation of the dynamic of a leading axis

The method involves controlling a drive according to an actual reference value of a successive axis with a preset clock by a control unit. Determination is made whether dynamics exceeds an upper dynamic limit in the clock by the control unit. Detection of the reference value is modified from a subsequent clock such that the drive is controlled with reduced dynamics until the reduced dynamics falls below a lower dynamic limit. The detection is modified when the dynamics exceeds the upper dynamic limit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an operating program comprising machine code for performing a method for operating a control unit (2) a data carrier for storing an operating program comprising machine code for performing a method for operating a control unit.
