<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for sufficiently enhancing the melamine production-inhibiting effect of an ascorbic acid compound. <P>SOLUTION: The subject skin care preparation for external use is characterized by comprising (1) an extract of Sophora flavescens, (2) an extract of Achilea millefolium, Centaurea cyanus, Tanacetum parthenium, Acroptilon repens, Smallanthus sonchifolius, Lepidium meyenii, or Eupatorium rebaudianum, in Compositae, and (3) ascorbic acid and/or its derivative. The skin care preparation for external use comprises preferably (1) 0.01 to 1 mass % of sophoraflavanone G represented by formula (a) and/or its salt, (2) 0.001 to 1 mass % of centaureidine represented by formula (b) and/or its salt, and (3) ascorbic acid and/or its derivative. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
