In a 2-motor drive mode with connection of both motors MG1 and MG2 with a driveshaft 67 by means of a transmission 60, a hybrid vehicle 20 sets torque commands Tm1* and Tm2* of the motors MG1 and MG2 based on a torque demand Tr* set at step S110, in order to minimize the sum of a loss of the motor MG1 and a loss of the motor MG2 and to ensure output of a power equivalent to a preset torque demand Tr* to the driveshaft 67 (steps S130 to S150).
