The device (1) has a retaining unit including a retaining element (3), and a holder for moving the unit to a horizontal operating position and a rest position, where the holder is formed as a plate and a flat element. The unit is retracted at or in a support structure (9) e.g. cockpit, in the rest position. The holder has a pivot bearing and a pivot pin (7) that extends in an axis of rotation and is coupled with the unit. The axis of rotation is formed transverse to a contact plane, which is fixed by the unit, such that the axis of rotation cuts the contact plane at an angle.
