The method involves providing a detection unit for detecting an error condition, an error storage (4) for storing error condition and a wireless interface (2) for enabling car-to-car communication between motor vehicles (1). The detected error condition is transmitted to one of the motor vehicles using the wireless interface, where the transmitted error condition is diagnosed using an error diagnostics process. An output is automatically transmitted to a service station processor based on result of the diagnostics process.
