PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for providing a recording service in an IP multimedia subsystem are provided to set a bearer traffic path by a recording service server, thereby performing a recording service. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal(200) uses an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) to request a recording service to a recording service server(220). A bearer traffic path is set by the recording service server using an address received from the recording service server to enable the portable terminal to start a recording service. After the address of the recording service server is transmitted to the portable terminal, the recording service server records a call content of the portable terminal.
