PURPOSE: An audio system capable of showing the current time is provided to selectively show the operating state of a multimedia device or the current time. CONSTITUTION: An audio system(100) capable of showing the current time comprises a display unit(10), a signal input unit(20), and a controller(30). The display unit shows an operation display mode of a multimedia device. The signal input unit receives a switching signal from a user. The controller switches the operation display mode displayed on the display unit to a current time display mode according to the switching signal. If the switching signal is input again or an operation request signal corresponding to the operation display mode of the multimedia device is input, the controller switches the current time display mode displayed on the display unit to the operation display mode.
