PROTECTING SYSTEM FOR PARALLEL POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM OF ELECTRIC RAILWAY

PURPOSE: A system for protecting the parallel power supply system of an electric railway is provided to reduce a time for maintaining a circuit breaker by reducing the switching count of the circuit breaker or a manipulator. CONSTITUTION: An autotransformer(AT3) is connected between an up rail line and a down rail line. A first and a second circuit breakers(52C, 52D) block the electrical connection between the autotransformer and the up and down rail lines. A first and a second air sections(AS1, AS2) cut the connection between the up rail and the down rail lines. A gas insulation bus bypasses the rail line before the first air section and the rail lines after the first air section. A first and a second distance relays(c, d) operate the first circuit breaker. A third and a forth distance relays(e, f) operate the second circuit breaker.
