PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for searching a broadcast channel in a wireless communication system are provided to reduce a channel searching time by searching a transmission mode and a parameter depending on each preset channel. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcast receiver senses power on an event(301), and performs full scanning to search a broadcast channel(303). A channel list is generated and stored(305). When a broadcast watching event occurs, the digital broadcast receiver receives a broadcasting signal by performing synchronization for the selected channel(309).
