PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent locking of an impeller caused by foreign matters intruding into a pump chamber, and to facilitate maintenance without requiring dismantlement. SOLUTION: A slit 17 is provided in a suction port 10 to the pump chamber, and a foreign matter collecting member 80 including an attachment part 81 and a filter part 85 is fitted in. The attachment part 18 has a semicircular profile having an outside diameter equal to a small diameter part of the suction port, and a radial width equal to a thickness of the small diameter part, and the filter part is formed by a plurality of circular rings 86 crossing a through-hole 11 of the suction port. The slit part is covered by a suction hose inserted into the suction port. The foreign matters mixed into sucked water are collected by the filter part before flowing into the pump chamber 2, and do not reach an impeller in the pump chamber, and are not accumulated in the pump chamber. Extensive dismantling such as separation of an upper body 3 and a lower body 4 can be dispensed for removing the foreign matters or replacing the foreign matter collecting member 80.
