<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for achieving highly reliable transmission even in an environment where the phase of a received signal is considerably varied by phase noise, in a transmission system using frequency domain equalization with a single carrier. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A phase noise compensation receiver is obtained, which has extremely superior resistance to the phase noise by determining a channel estimate value from a received signal while using a pilot signal known in transmission/reception by means of a first channel estimation unit 2, estimating phase noise caused in a local oscillator while using a transmission signal replica generated using a signal after error-correction decoding and the channel estimate value by means of a determination oriented phase noise estimation unit 17, removing the phase noise before frequency domain equalization by removing the phase noise from the received signal while using the phase noise estimated by a phase noise compensator 4, and nearly perfectly removing the phase noise by iteratively performing phase noise compensation by means of the determination oriented phase noise estimation unit 17 and the phase noise compensator 4 while using an error-correction decoding result.
