The device has an actuating element (20) cooperating with a transmission member (10) e.g. flexible belt. A closing mechanism is locked and a door is closed in a closed condition of a catch (32). The closing mechanism is released and the door is opened in an opening condition of the catch. The transmission member transmits the movement into the catch during actuating the actuating element so that the catch is guided from the closing position to the opening position. The transmission member is formed from polyoxymethylene. The transmission member is movably guided in a guide (40).
