PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to efficiently perform the deodorization and/or the sterilization in a pressure-reduced storage room without a blowing unit. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a storage room(24), a cover(60), and a pressure-reducing unit(29). The cover opens and closes the opening of the storage room. If the opening is closed, the cover suppresses the movement of the gas between the inside and the outside of the storage room. The pressure-reducing unit reduces the inner pressure of the storage room inside to the pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure. A photocatalyst is installed at the inner side of the cover and/or the inner wall of the storage room, and the moisture emitted from the food stored in the storage room keeps the inside of the storage room at a high humidity, if the pressure of the storage room reduces. At least part of the storage room and/or the cover is composed of light-transmitting material. |
