SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE AND READOUT METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A solid state imaging device and a reading method thereof are provided to remove a mixed color between pixels by sharing a vertical CCD shift register between two pixels which are adjacent in a horizontal transfer direction. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pixels(12) is arranged in a vertical transfer direction and a horizontal transfer direction. A vertical CCD(Charge Coupled Device) shift register(21) is installed between two pixels which are adjacent in the horizontal transfer direction. A first channel stopper(14) for separating the pixels is formed between two pixels adjacent to the horizontal transfer direction and the pixel adjacent to the horizontal transfer direction of the two pixels. A read gate unit(15) and a second channel stopper(16) are formed in parallel to a vertical transfer direction between the pixel and the vertical CCD shift register. Two pixels adjacent to the horizontal transfer direction share the vertical CCD shift register. The thicker insulation layer than a gate insulation layer(23) of the vertical CCD shift register is formed on the first channel stop unit.
